I took 5 Waymo’s, 4 Uber, 1 Taxi in Austin last week. First time but I’ve watched them in Scottsdale.
Complete overriding thought is your safer than human. I laughed at these news reports about the school bus thinking how many human accidents do they report? You had the stats.
Wow, call it an essay as you briefly mentioned or call it a missive as it might be more commonly referred to, but this article had guts! I cannot imagine a guy like Bobby Fischer losing to a computer in Chess. Everything surely is relative, and the world we live in is for us to maneuver within. Thank you for your in depth thoughts TN. Your readings continue to serve as a guide on the many topics you choose to discuss!
Thanks 7Up! There is so much discussion about “Artificial Intelligence” with hardly any discussion about “base intelligence”. It is undoubtedly a touchy topic, and one that is difficult to broach without sounding: classist, elitist, pompous, and an a-hole. But all things in life are relative and AI should be no exception.
TN, you're right and I can see how it can be perceived as a touchy subject. I'm no expert on AI, but as you have interestingly mentioned the terms base intelligence and relative, the average IQ for us humans may not be able to keep up with the average IQ for AI.
I do know one thing for sure; I wouldn't stand a chance for hitting a bucket of golf balls as consistent as "Iron Byron" whom has been around for some time now.
Thanks for all of your great thoughts, missives, and postings. Look forward to Monday's meeting.
Well done TN.
Much I’ll reread
