Why are Crypto prices so depressed?

Looking for answers in all the right places.

Crypto prices, as reflected in all the majors (BTC, ETH and SOL) are in a downright slump.

The Bid is soft, and short sellers feel very comfortable shorting runs, and covering back down at support.

This is simply a FACT.

What is not an obvious fact, is why?
